Air Quality Monitoring

The DNR Ambient Air Monitoring group organizes and plans air monitoring activities within the State of Iowa. Federal monitoring requirements are set by EPA rules. The ambient monitoring staff works with EPA Region 7 and the Local Programs in Polk and Linn counties to develop a monitoring plan for the State. The State contracts with the University of Iowa Hygienic Laboratory and the Polk and Linn County Local Programs to collect air monitoring data, quality assure the results, and report the data to the public. Members of the air monitoring group develop and administer these contracts. Ambient air monitoring staff also perform data analysis, help to site monitors, and participate in monitoring work- groups at the state and national levels.

Real Time Air Monitoring Data
