Fairport State Recreation Area near Muscatine offers majestic views of the Mississippi River. The campground is a small but popular destination for visitors who enjoy easy access to fishing and boating.
Camp at one of Fairport’s electric campsites. Campers will enjoy river views from their campsites, along with modern amenities such as electrical hook-ups and modern restrooms and showers. Advanced campsite reservations can be made online through the online reservation system for Fairport State Recreation Area. Boat and fish using Fairport’s access to the Mississippi. Two boat ramps provide boating access, with courtesy docks at each ramp. The Mississippi is a popular fishing destination for walleye, catfish and numerous other fish species. View wildlife at Fairport near the river. Large towboats, recreational boaters, river wildlife and the majesty of the river can be seen from the recreation area.
CAMPGROUND CLOSURE: Beginning November 15th, 2024, the Campground will be closed for the winter months and will reopen on March 16th, 2025. (Posted 11/1/2024)
Water has been shut off and bathroom facilities have been winterized and closed. Water will be turned back on sometime around the beginning of May 2025. (posted 10/21/2024)
