Winter community trout stockings at central Iowa ponds scheduled for this Saturday, Jan. 27 in Bondurant, Saturday, Feb. 3 in Ames and Waukee, and Saturday, Feb. 10 in Johnston will be unannounced due to warm weather and deteriorating ice conditions.

AMES, Iowa – DNR staff investigated a fish kill along Ioway Creek in Ames, Thursday, July 8 after a passerby noticed dead fish mid-morning and called the DNR.

AMES, Iowa -- As clean-up efforts are well underway and even nearing completion in some areas following the derecho that tore through Iowa in early August, the DNR State Forest Nursery is working with customers to select the proper trees to replant in areas completely leveled by the storm.

Ames, Iowa – The trout stocking and family trout fishing event scheduled for this Saturday, Feb. 1, at Ada Hayden Heritage Park, has been postponed due to unsafe ice conditions for the expected large crowd.

AMES – A family trout fishing event will be held at Ada Hayden Heritage Park this Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11:30 a.m. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will stock 2,200 rainbow trout in the north lake between 11:30 a.m. and noon.
