State Preserves Advisory Board

State Preserve Advisory Board tours of Lamson Woods and White Pine Hollow State Preserves:
  • Friday, May 7 at Lamson Woods State Preserve in Fairfield (Jefferson County);
    afternoon tour starting at 1:30 PM at the preserve entrance.
  • Friday, May 14 at White Pine Hollow State Preserve near Luxumberg (Dubuque County);
    afternoon tour starting at 1:00 PM at preserve entrance.

The purpose of these two tours will be to view the preserves in the field as preparation for reviewing newly proposed management plans, which will be discussed at a Preserves Board business meeting to be conducted at a later date (to be determined and announced later).

Chapter 465C establishes the State Preserves Advisory Board. This Board has seven members, six appointed by the governor plus the director of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The Board advises the DNR on acquisition, dedication, and management of state preserves.
