Certified Labs and Analytical Methods

Certified Labs

Analyses performed to provide data to be submitted to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) must be accomplished through laboratories certified for the parameters being measured.  The certification process is in cooperation with the State Hygienic Laboratory at the University of Iowa (SHL).

If you are interested in the methodology used in certifying laboratories for UST analyses, you may wish to look at the SHL description of its program related to UST analysis on the SHL Introduction or SHL Certification web pages

If you are interested in locating laboratories that are certified to provide the analysis that you need, you may do a search for laboratories or analytes on the following SHL web pages:

You can access the SHL database to do a search based on the analyses you want performed on the SHL Kits, Quotes, Forms webpage or you can search the SHL database by submitting a form to SHL for access.
