Iowa State Parks Trails
A web based application has been developed to identify and map trails maintained in Iowa state parks. Utilizing this application on a mobile device will allow for navigation. By selecting each section of trail users can identify trail name, acceptable trail use and distance. The application utilizes the device's gps system and mobile data. Data service can be a limiting factor for this application.

Iowa by Trail lets you explore 2,000+ miles of Iowa trails. Plan your route and find attractions along the way by visiting the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation's website.


American Trails, Nationwide
Search over 1,100 National recreation Trails within the American Trails' database, which is the World's largest online trails resource.


Recreational Trails Program
The Recreational Trails Program (RTP) is an assistance program of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The RTP provides funds to the States to develop and maintain recreational trails and trail-related facilities for motorized and nonmotorized recreational trail uses.
