Are you the one responsible for planning your holiday get-together or company party? Still need a place to host it? You might want to check out several state park lodges open year-round.

“We have six lodges scattered around the state with beautiful, comfortable spaces to host holiday parties and family gatherings in the winter months, and all year long,” says Todd Coffelt, DNR State Parks Bureau Chief.

Each lodge is unique and can hold anywhere between 50 and 200 people. Rental rates run from $35 per day to $200 per day, again, depending on the lodge. All have full kitchens and modern rest rooms, and most have wood-burning fireplaces. These year-round lodges are located in the following parks:

  •          Lacey-Keosauqua (Van Buren County)
  •          Lake Darling (Washington County)
  •          Lewis and Clark (Monona County)
  •          Walnut Woods (Polk County)
  •          Wapsipinicon (Jones County)
  •          Waubonsie (Fremont County)

“The ambiance of our year-round lodges help create the perfect warm and cozy atmosphere for a holiday gathering,” says Coffelt.
