Fairport State Recreation Area near Muscatine offers majestic views of the Mississippi River. The campground is a small but popular destination for visitors who enjoy easy access to fishing and boating.
Camp at one of Fairport’s electric campsites. Campers will enjoy river views from their campsites, along with modern amenities such as electrical hook-ups and modern restrooms and showers. Advanced campsite reservations can be made online through the online reservation system for Fairport State Recreation Area. Boat and fish using Fairport’s access to the Mississippi. Two boat ramps provide boating access, with courtesy docks at each ramp. The Mississippi is a popular fishing destination for walleye, catfish and numerous other fish species. View wildlife at Fairport near the river. Large towboats, recreational boaters, river wildlife and the majesty of the river can be seen from the recreation area.
WATER SHUT OFF: Park Staff will begin to shut the water off to all facilities, around October 15th, 2024. Depending on the weather and Staff availability, the water and facilities may stay on until later in October. The campground will remain open through the winter months. (Posted 10/8/2024)
ATTENTION: The Fairport Campground is open, however, a few sites are still closed due to flood damage. Campsites affected and closed are sites 37 to 39. Campsites will open back up when they have dried out and Park Staff have been able to make the necessary repairs. (Updated 8/14/24)
