LANSING – The Heytman’s Landing boat ramp, south of Lansing, on Pool 9 of the Mississippi River is closed to dredge the boat channel. The work is expected to be completed by mid-November.

LANSING – The Heytman’s Landing boat ramp, south of Lansing, on Pool 9 of the Mississippi River is closed until Sept. 23 to replace the railroad bridge that spans the boat channel.

Access to the Hales Slough boat ramp area on Big Spirit Lake will be closed to all uses beginning Oct. 25 as part of the ongoing Anglers Bay shoreline and associated oak savanna restoration effort to benefit the highly diverse aquatic terrestrial plant beds present near shore.

LANSING – The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) urges boaters to use caution at the Lansing Village Creek boat access with lower water predicted through next week. Boats could run aground as river levels drop due to a partial closure of the boat channel at the mouth of the creek and the channel going under the bridge.

Big Creek boat ramp temporarily closed for emergency road repairs

POLK CITY, Iowa -- Emergency repairs are needed after recent rainfall damaged NW 100th Street leading up to the boat ramp at Big Creek. The repairs are expected to take up to one week and will require the road to be temporarily closed during this time and will restrict access to the boat ramp located at the end of the drive.

PALO, Iowa – The lake restoration project at the Pleasant Creek Recreation Area scheduled to begin this winter has been postponed to April 2016 due to an unforeseen problem with the main gate valve in the dam requiring it to be replaced before the project can begin.
