LINN COUNTY, Iowa -- Campgrounds, cabins and shelters are now open at Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area following the derecho in early August. The trails and the beach remain closed as well as the lodge as DNR staff continue to work diligently to clean up damage left behind by August’s derecho.

PLEASANTVILLE, Iowa -- The City of Pleasantville, in partnership with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig, invites the public to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at Shadle Park on May 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.  The ribbon cutting ceremony will celebrate the completion of Pleasantville’s State Revolving Fund Water Resource Restoration Sponsored Project, in conjunction with Soil and Water Conservation Week.

PLEASANT HILL - A fish kill that began in Camp Creek east of Pleasant Hill and about five miles north of Runnells in Polk County appears to be limited to less than five miles of Camp Creek, DNR investigators said today.

Iowa athletes from North Scott, Maquoketa, Pleasant Valley, Pella, Pella Christian, Ankeny Centennial, Gilbert, Solon, Oskaloosa and Easton Valley were frequent visitors to the winners podium at the Scholastic Action Sports Program (SASP) and the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) National Team Championships.

DES MOINES -- The Department of Natural Resources is reminding the public that an alcohol ban is currently in effect for the beaches at Lake Macbride State Park near Solon in Johnson County and Pleasant Creek State Recreation Area, north of Cedar Rapids.  The ban applies to both the sand area of the beach, a 200-foot buffer of land surrounding the sand, and the designated swimming area adjacent to the beach as marked by buoys or swim lines. This ban allows the DNR to reopen the beaches until 10:30pm.

PALO – The restoration of Pleasant Creek Lake, Linn County’s largest and most popular lake, that began last fall is nearly complete. All that remains to be finished is some concrete work and seeding the area.​

PALO, Iowa – The lake restoration project at the Pleasant Creek Recreation Area scheduled to begin this winter has been postponed to April 2016 due to an unforeseen problem with the main gate valve in the dam requiring it to be replaced before the project can begin.
