MAC applicator training wrapping up

Manure applicator certification training for confinement site applicators is wrapping up, with the last live session scheduled Feb. 28. Confinement and commercial applicators who handle dry or solid manure can catch one of six training sessions offered Feb. 13 to Feb. 28.

We want to make it easier to apply for a Title V operating permit. Representatives from manufacturing, grain processing, and utilities collaborated with the DNR to make this happen. Improvements were made to seven forms, Excel versions of two forms were created and one form was eliminated altogether. For nine of our application forms, the DNR will soon allow the use of previous application forms and even the use of photocopies of previous application forms in cases where there have been no changes to the equipment....

Steps are now in place to assist businesses in preparing the permit applications needed under the Title V program. Representatives from manufacturing, grain processing, and utilities participated in an event to improve the Title V program.

Reminder for all manure applicators: winter manure application may result in runoff and lost nutrients. So be careful if manure can’t be injected or incorporated because of field conditions.

Trees For Kids grant applications are available online for schools and communities to involve youth in planting trees this spring.  The grants pay up to $5,000 for landscape trees and mulch for schools, communities and other public areas.

New Title V EZ Mod Permit Application Form

The DNR has a new air quality operating (Title V) permit application form – EZ Mod Form. The new EZ Mod Form is an optional alternative to the standard Title V application forms to request a minor Title V permit modification. To reduce submitting duplicate information, this form incorporates data elements from air construction permit applications and final issued air construction permits.
