MANSON - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Iowa State University and the Silver Lake Protective Association will host a public meeting at 6 p.m., August 29, at the Ayrshire Community Building in Ayrshire, to discuss plans for improving the water quality in Silver Lake in Palo Alto County.

Findings from the diagnostic and feasibility study of Silver Lake that was conducted over the past three years will be presented along with suggestions for how the community can use this information to develop a long term management and improvement plan for the Silver Lake.

Silver Lake has exhibited poor water quality and fish and wildlife habitat for many years.  The overall goal is to improve water quality, habitat, and recreational opportunities.

Any persons who intend to attend the meeting and have special requirements, such as those related to hearing or mobility impairments, should contact the DNR and request specific accommodations.
