Environmental Protection Commission to Meet February 16

WINDSOR HEIGHTS – Commissioners will be asked to approve contracts and two referrals to the Iowa Attorney General at the Feb. 16 Environmental Protection Commission meeting.

The meeting begins at 10 a.m. at the DNR’s Air Quality Bureau, 7900 Hickman Road in Windsor Heights.

In addition, at 12:30 p.m. the EPC will hear public comments on the Cedar Rapids Community School District and Abatement Specialties, LLC, regarding asbestos violations of the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants. At 1 p.m., the EPC will rule on referring the issue to the attorney general’s office.

The regular meeting is open to the public. People may also submit written comments to the commission by mail or email to Angie Clark, Angie.Clark@dnr.iowa.gov, in advance of the meeting.
