DES MOINES – The DNR Air Quality Bureau has the following draft permits up for review. The permits help protect Iowans’ health and air quality. DNR’s permitting staff review each permit application to ensure facilities comply with state and federal air quality requirements. We encourage public comments on draft permits, providing help on how to make effective comments. Submit written comments to the assigned permit writer before 4:30 p.m. on the last day of the public comment period.

Muscatine County
Muscatine Power and Water, 1700 Dick Drake Way, Muscatine
Project 21-096. The purpose of this project is to reduce the frequency of silt loading testing that the facility must do on seven paved road segments. Public comment period ends Sept. 13.

Lee County
Iowa Fertilizer Company, 3550 180th St., Wever
Project Number 21-012

This project will reduce particulate emission testing from once per quarter to once per year. Also, the company is required to use more scrubbant in the air pollution control equipment to maintain its current high level of control. The public comment period will run from Aug. 13 to Sept. 13 and requests for a public hearing must be submitted by Aug. 27.
