DES MOINES – The DNR Air Quality Bureau has the following draft permits up for review. The permits help protect Iowans’ health and the air where we live. DNR’s permitting staff review the applications to ensure facilities comply with state and federal air quality standards. The public has the right and is encouraged to comment on draft permits. DNR considers public comments before finalizing the permits. Submit comments in writing to the assigned permit writer before 4:30 p.m. on the last day of the comment period.

JDPEC is a research and development center for tractors and engines. This project is for the rescission of three Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) Permit Nos. 18-A-683-P5 (EP 5NB3-BB), 18-A-684-P5 (EP 5NB4-BB), and 18-A-685-P5 (EP 5NB6-BB) and six additional permits 18-A-656-S3 (EP 2B3-BB), 18-A-658-S3 (EP 2B4-BB), 18-A-660-S3 (EP 2BX4-BB), 18-A-661-S4 (EP 2BX6-BB), 18-A-662-S4 (EP 2BX8-BB), 18-A-663-S5 (EP 5NB1-BB). These nine permits are being rescinded to reflect the disconnection/removal of the bypass stacks from the Drive Train Test Cells and the permanent routing of the Crankcase Ventilation emissions to the main stack associated with the Drive Train Test Cell emission units.  All comments are limited to the rescission of the three PSD permits 18-A-683-P5 (EP 5NB3-BB), 18-A-684-P5 (EP 5NB4-BB), and 18-A-685-P5 (EP 5NB6-BB). Public comment period ends on June 9.
