Registration Requirements
Off-highway vehicles in Iowa operated on public land, public ice, or at a designated riding area must be registered with the DNR. The decal must be displayed as required and the operator must have the registration certificate either in the vehicle or on the person while the vehicle is in use.
All newly owned machines, or machines not yet entered into the recreational vehicle and vessel registration system (RVVRS), must be registered through the County Recorder’s Office in the owner’s county of residence.
