During the spring of 2025, Lydia Davis became interested in Iowa deer population data and research. She opted to take part in the publicly offered CWD ambassador program, which is taught by ISU extension and the IA DNR. With her experience from this class and help from the DNR Outreach and Education team, she was able to bring the CWD ambassador program into her high school class. Students learned about deer management, CWD and other deer diseases, and actually pulled real lymph nodes from deer specimens to be sent in for testing.
