DES MOINES – Virtual public hearings for the water quality standards triennial review have been scheduled for Thursday, September 18 at 9:30 a.m. and Tuesday, September 23 at 2:30 p.m. The links to join the hearings can be found under Triennial Review at www.iowadnr.gov/waterqualitystandards/triennialreview. Both meetings will be recorded and posted.

Triennial Review

Every three years, states are required to hold a public hearing for the purpose of reviewing their water quality standards (40 CFR 131.20). This provides an opportunity for the public to participate in the state’s water quality standards adoption process.

Public Comments

The public comment period for this triennial review is open from Thursday, September 18 to Monday, October 20. There will be opportunities to provide oral comments during the hearings.
