BOONE – Ledges State Park will fully open on Tuesday, Sept. 1 after a month-long road project at the park.  Major improvements include parking lot and roadway surfacing, roadside drainage improvements, and parking lot striping.

“We’re excited to be open in time for Labor Day weekend and to welcome park visitors for the fall season,” said Park Manager Andy Bartlett.

Autumn is one of the busiest times at Ledges State Park, and Bartlett encourages campers to make their reservations soon to reserve their spots. The park accepts camping reservations up to three months in advance online to https://iowastateparks.reserveamerica.com/ or by calling toll free (877) 427-2757.

The Oak Woods and Carl Fritz Henning shelters will remain closed for reservations as work wraps up on their improvements, which is scheduled to be completed in two weeks.
