LEE COUNTY, IA – The 47th annual Shimek State Forest Field Day will take place on Oct. 7. This long-standing event brings together forestry professionals, landowners, and nature enthusiasts to explore timely topics and practical solutions for managing forests in Southeast Iowa.

Experts from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will guide participants through a variety of informational sessions designed to improve forest health and productivity.

- Mushroom Identification
- Sawmill Demonstration
Forestry Field Day provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn directly from leading specialists, discover new practices, and connect with others who share an interest in forest stewardship.
