These positions are available within the department's Geographic Information System (GIS) Section. Under the guidance of senior GIS staff, the position's work will conduct spatial analysis, modeling, data processing, and process simulations, such as erosion, nutrient transport and runoff, siting analyses, and spatial pattern identification.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has a job vacancy for a Natural Resource Technician 2 position, within the Wildlife Bureau located at Cedar Wapsi Wildlife Unit/Sweet Marsh Unit in Sumner, IA. The Natural Resources Technician 2 (NRT2) is responsible for completion of reports on a daily, quarterly, and annual basis to comply with department policy and operating procedures. Additional duties include maintenance, inspections, and repairs of all WMU facilities and equipment, as well as overseeing the trapping and banding of wood ducks, Canada geese, mourning doves, and other animals as part of ongoing population monitoring.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has a vacancy for an Environmental Program Supervisor within the Air Quality Bureau located in Des Moines, IA. This position serves as supervisor of 11 team members in the Emissions Inventory and Operating Permits section of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ Air Quality Bureau. This bureau is responsible for implementing the federally delegated emissions inventory and operating permit programs for the state of Iowa.

This position is responsible for implementation of the manure management program (MMP) administrative review process for the Animal Feeding Operations program, including review of submitted MMP applications to ensure completeness and accuracy, management of permit and certification fee submittals, data entry and database management and monitoring to produce status reports, and appropriate tracking of all MMP permits for compliance.

The Natural Resources Technician 2 (NRT2) is responsible for completion of reports on a daily, quarterly, and annual basis to comply with department policy and operating procedures. This employee is also responsible for preparation of project requests, purchasing supplies, submitting claims for payment, maintaining records, monthly cost accounting, and submitting reports as assigned for specific projects.
The purpose of this Trout Hatchery Technician position at the Chuck Gipp Decorah Fish Hatchery is to assist the fish culture and fisheries management teams at this station. This hatchery cultures, raises and stocks trout into selected streams and urban ponds of the state and the fisheries management team serves to provide recreational opportunities to the public. Primary duties include trout culture and distribution, building, grounds, and equipment maintenance, and data collection and processing.
