Plainfield Lake is a consistent producer of quality bluegill and largemouth bass. Fishing can be difficult at times with very clear water conditions, but fish surveys find bluegill over 8-inches and largemouth bass over 20-inches long. Lake water levels can fluctuate many feet during a year in response to drought or wet weather conditions. (2015)

Some limitations may apply for young children and pregnant women. Here’s a Fish Consumption Fact Sheet from the Iowa DNR and the Iowa Dept. of Public Health for more information.
