Approximately 8 inches of ice off the east boat ramp.
Most Mount Ayr district lakes have variable ice conditions ranging from 0-8 inches. However, there are areas of thin ice around areas that were open last week. Use extreme caution if venturing out ice fishing and drill many test holes. For more information, please contact the Mount Ayr Fisheries office at 641-464-3108.
Black Crappie - Fair: Try using jigs tipped with a minnow or waxworm fished in the upper end of the reservoir for Crappie of all sizes.
Bluegill - Fair: Try using jigs tipped with a waxworm fished in the upper end of the reservoir.

Spring electrofishing indicated good numbers of Largemouth Bass up to 18 inches. Walleye were sampled in moderate abundance with most Walleye in the 14-23 inch length range. Good numbers of Bluegill and Crappie were sampled in 2022. Bluegill up to 9 inches and Crappies mostly in the 9-11 inch length range are available to anglers.(2022)
