Additional Information: The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will be offering a fur harvester education class on Saturday, October 12th, at the Fairport Fish Hatchery near Muscatine. Class times are 1:00 - 9:00 p.m. The class will cover furbearer trapping, coon hunting, predator calling, ethics and responsibility, pelt preparation, and hunting and trapping rules and regulations. Upon completion of the class, students will receive a furharvester education certificate from the Iowa DNR. Minimum age for certification is 12 years old. The class will be an outdoors hands-on activity. Students are encouraged to bring a pair of rubber boots. Food and drink will be provided.
