Additional Information: The Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the Muscatine County Conservation Board will be offering a furharvester education class on Saturday, October 13th, at the Saulsbury Bridge Recreation Area near Muscatine. Class times are 1:00 9:00 p.m. The class will cover furbearer trapping, coon hunting, predator calling, ethics and responsibility, pelt preparation, and hunting and trapping rules and regulations. Upon completion of the class, students will receive a furharvester education certificate from the Iowa DNR. Minimum age for certification is 12 years old. The class will be an outdoors hands-on activity. Students are encouraged to bring a pair of rubber boots and a flashlight. Food and drink will be provided. Preregistration for the class is required.
