Honey Creek Resort State Park is owned by the State of Iowa, with oversight provided by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The Honey Creek Resort Destination State Park Bond Authority established the bonding for the resort park. Central Group Companies, Inc., was hired by the DNR to manage the resort, including the development of an annual budget and monthly financial statements. The management agreement with Central Group Companies, Inc. ended June 30, 2016. The reports posted below were submitted to the
Natural Resource Commission throughout the term of the management agreement. The June 2016 report reflects activities to close out the management agreement with Central Group Companies, Inc.
In April 2016, the DNR entered into a concession contract with DNC Parks & Resorts at Honey Creek, Inc. to operate the resort as a concession. DNC Parks & Resorts at Honey Creek, Inc. took over operation on June 1, 2016.
