The Air Quality Bureau is accepting agenda topics for the next Air Quality Client Contact Meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for November 30 at 1:00 p.m., at the DNR’s Air Quality Bureau Office located a 7900 Hickman Rd, Windsor Heights. A conference call option is also available for the meeting.

While the documentation of 17 Barn Owl nests and 33 total records in 2016 was an all-time record high for Iowa, that record was more than doubled this year. Currently, 38 Barn Owl nests are documented in 26 counties, and 71 young Barn Owls have fledged from 26 nests.

Work is proceeding on the new electronic Manure Management Plan (eMMP) which will make it possible to submit short forms for manure management plans and pay fees online. The goal is to simplify filing an annual MMP for 7,000-plus producers, their consultants, and the 99 counties that receive the plans.
