You might be in luck. Currently, two state parks have cabins available for this Valentine’s weekend.
At this point, these cabins cannot be reserved through the state park reservation system or through the call center, but are available on a first-come, first-served basis through the park office. If you are interested in this opportunity please call the respective park office today. If there is no answer, please leave a number where you can be reached.
Visitors will need to bring bedding, towels and some cooking utensils. What better way to spend the Valentine’s weekend than in a cozy state park cabin. The quiet solitude of a winter getaway is waiting for you in beautiful, comfortable year-round cabins at these Iowa state parks:

- Springbrook State Park’s spacious Sherburne Cabin is ideal for a multi-family getaway. The cabin sleeps up to 10 and features four bedrooms, a full kitchen and huge living room. The Sherburne Cabin rents for $200 per night in the winter. Springbrook State Park, located in Guthrie County, is currently closed for road and bridge work, but access to the cabin and the nearby Conservation Education Center remain open.
