The DNR is recommending a heavily used river access along a state-designated water trail in Hardin County be temporarily avoided.

The Hardin City Bridge access on 170th St., located near the Hardin City Woodland State Preserve along the Iowa River between Eagle City Park and Steamboat Rock, is a popular access point for canoeists and kayakers. The DNR and Hardin County are advising recreationists avoid the area for at least the rest of this year’s paddling season due to easement legal issues.

Paddlers are asked to plan their trips accordingly. Updated information will be released when changes develop.
