DES MOINES – An overview of the State Revolving Fund will kick off the June 18 Environmental Protection Commission meeting.

The Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund or SRF programs provide low interest loans to finance the design and construction of drinking water and wastewater systems. The programs are jointly administered by DNR and the Iowa Finance Authority.

Contracts dominate the remainder of the agenda after the meeting begins at 10 a.m. in Room 116 of the Iowa State Capitol, 1007 E. Grand Ave., Des Moines. The meeting is open to the public.

Contracts to sample and analyze air and water samples, to reduce waste going to landfills, protect drinking water sources and to certify laboratories are up for commission approval.

Commissioners will also be asked to approve contracts to help restore Easter Lake, provide assistance to small businesses and to control air pollution in Linn and Polk counties.

There is no scheduled public participation. Written comments may be submitted up to one day before the meeting to Jerah Sheets at Jerah.Sheets@dnr.iowa.gov or to DNR, 502 E. Ninth St., Des Moines, IA 50319.
