CORYDON, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is hosting a public meeting to discuss the upcoming deer hunting season and new monitoring efforts for chronic wasting disease on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., in the 4H Banquet Hall on the Wayne County Fairgrounds, 800 Second Avenue, in Corydon.

Hunter Education Classroom courses are offered by knowledgeable and certified volunteer instructors and Iowa Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers. Classroom courses are typically 12-15 hours in length and are held over 2 to 3 sessions (days). In order to receive certification, a student must attend all sessions and pass the final exam.

On August 24, 2018 the EPA signed the Final Extension of the Short-Term National Product Waiver for Stainless-Steel Nuts and Bolts used in Pipe Couplings, Restraints, Joints, Flanges and Saddles. This short-term waiver permits the use of non-domestically produced stainless-steel nuts and bolts in bolting-type pipe couplings, restraints, joints, flanges, and repair saddles in iron and steel products for projects funded by the Clean Water or Drinking Water State Revolving Funds.
