Public meeting to discuss Lake Geode improvement plan

DANVILLE – The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host a public meeting at6:30 p.m., June 1, at the Linkin Center in New London, to discuss plans for improving water quality and recreational opportunities at Geode State Park in Henry County.

Restoration activities planned for the park’s lake will be presented at the meeting, along with an opportunity for the public to express their comments and ask questions about the long-term management and improvement plan.

Lake Geode is one of 35 priority lakes in the state selected for lake restoration work to improve water quality.  The overall goal of this restoration project is to improve water quality and recreational opportunities in the lake and remove the lake from the Impaired Waters List.
