INDIANOLA – A family trout fishing event will be held at Banner Lake South at Summerset Park, north of Indianola, April 8 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will release 1,400 rainbow trout around noon.

Anglers must have a valid fishing license and pay the trout fee to fish for or possess trout. The daily limit is five trout per licensed angler with a possession limit of 10. Children age 15 or younger can fish for trout with a properly licensed adult, but they must limit their catch to one daily limit. The child can buy a trout fee which will allow them to catch their own limit of five trout.

A free lunch will be provided for approximately the first 100 anglers by the Warren County Izaak Walton League from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Warren County Izaak Walton League and the Iowa DNR.
