Controlled Waterfowl Hunting
Odessa hunt drawing board
A portion of the Odessa Wildlife Management Area is designated as a controlled hunting area.  Staked hunting sites are established at the Area and hunters must draw for their pick of sites.  Daily permits are required to hunt during the waterfowl season.  Hunters receive their permits at the check station and are required to check their bag at the check station before leaving the area.  Drawings are held approximately 90 minutes before shooting time for the purpose of selecting blinds or stake sites.

Note!!
Controlled hunting will not be in effect at Odessa during the early September duck season, but will function as normal beginning in October.

Note!!
Controlled hunting opportunities will no longer take place at Riverton.  In addition, the size of the refuge at Riverton has been increased.

For information about Odessa's hunting opportunities, contact (319) 523-8319.
