Youth Deer Season -- Regular Deer Season -- Trapping Deer
YOUTH DEER SEASON

Iowa has a special youth season where adults can take their children or young friends hunting and teach them the fundamentals of the sport. The adults must be licensed hunters but cannot carry weapons so they can focus on the youth (season dates -- application deadline).

REGULAR DEER SEASON

Women can attend a Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshop in Iowa or in most states around the country to learn outdoor skills. The workshops teach about hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, photography and much more. All people 18 and older are welcome to the workshops.

TRAPPING DEER

Research is an important way to gather information about deer and their behavior. Deer are live-trapped and radio collars put around their necks so researchers can track where they go and how long they live.
