2009 Walnut Creek Watershed Field Day
Date: Wednesday, July 1, 2009
Time: 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., Presentation at 1:00 and 2:00, with "hilltop" tour of practices available.
Location: Andrew and Karen Kline's garage: 3150 140th Street, Brooklyn.
Join us for a field day at the residence of Andrew and Karen Kline to learn about the Walnut Creek Watershed Project. We will have a brief presentation on the progress of the project, followed by a tour of Jerome Kline's conservation practices. You may come at 1:00 pm or 2:00 pm, because we will have a brief presentation and tour from the hilltop at both times. We will be serving beverages and desserts after the tour, and at this time you may ask Jeremy Saugstad, Project Coordinator, questions or visit with other watershed landowners that are present. Directions:
From Highway US-6, turn onto US Highway 63 and go North (towards Tama).
Turn East, or right, onto 320th Ave. (4.0 miles).
Then, Turn North, or left, onto 140th St. (0.5 miles).
Andrew Kline's place is on the west side of the road, at the top of the hill.
Jeremy Saugstad, project coordinator, can help landowners
Jeremy Saugstad, Walnut Creek Watershed Project Coordinator, wants to get the community involved in improving the water quality in the creek.
With nearly 15 years of farming experience, Saugstad would like to help farmers improve the land and water quality with conservation practices.
