Cost-share of at least 75 percent is available for landowners looking to add most conservation practices. Some practices that qualify for additional funding sources, such as CRP or EQIP, may be able to be funded at a higher rate. Sources of funding include:
- Iowa DNR- Watershed improvement funds- section 319
- Iowa Dept. of Agriculture and Land Stewardship-Division of Soil Conservation
- Watershed Protection Funds (WSPF)
- Water Protection Funds (WPF)
- USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service
- Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP)
Low-interest loans from Iowa's State Revolving Fund can also help landowners looking to make improvements to their land.
Project coordinator Melody Bro can help landowners take advantage of these funding opportunities. Contact Bro at (641) 484-2702 ext. 120 or Melody.Bro@ia.usda.gov to learn more.
