The Source Water Assessment and Protection Program was developed to comply with the requirements of the 1996 Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments. The purpose of this plan is to describe the State of Iowa's source water protection plan, and to detail the responsibilities of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and public water systems with regard to this program.
