The DNR is helping Iowans across the state improve our lakes and streams by supporting and working with watershed projects.
By making changes in how we manage both private and public land, we can reduce the amount of pollution
like sediment, nutrients and bacteria, reaching our water. The highlights featured below are just some of the many successes we've seen so far, and there's more work underway.
Mink Creek
As of July 1, 2007 many conservation practices have been completed. Here are just some the reasons the future of the Mink Creek
watershed looks so bright:
Animal Waste Structure: 1 unit
Continuous CRP Contour Buffer Strips: 72.6 acres
Grade Stabilization Structure: 1 unit
No-till Farming: 88 acres
Terraces: 13,637 feet
Waterway Reestabilishment: 6.8 acres
Tree Planting: 34 acres
Timber Stand Improvement: 82.3 acres
Continuous CRP Filter Strips: 17.2 acres
Continuous CRP Waterways: 1.8 acres
General CRP: 839 acres
