About the creek

  • Listed on Iowa's impaired waters list
  • Recreational uses: fishing, wading
  • Interesting fact: The first white settler in Polk County built an inn along Camp Creek in what is today Thomas Mitchell Park. He is buried there and the town of Mitchellville is named after him.
