Buying Recycled

"If you are not buying recycled, you are not really recycling." This slogan was used nationwide to promote America Recycles Day. Recycling at home and at work is a good start, but to close the recycling loop, we need to purchase recycled content products.

The Buy Recycled, Iowa! Program offers resources to help you close the recycling loop while supporting Iowa's valuable recycling industry.

Resources to assist you in the purchasing of recycled-content products are available from the Iowa Department of Administrative Services, the Iowa Department of Economic Development, the national Buy Recycled Business Alliance and the United State Environmental Protection Agency.

For more information on buying recycled, visit these resources. Remember, "If you are not buying recycled, you are not really recycling."
