Rule Revision Information:
The Land Quality Bureau is working closely with Iowa stakeholders to revise Iowa Administrative Code (IAC) 567-Chapter 108 "Beneficial Use Determinations: Solid By-Products as Resources and Alternative Cover Material." This Web page is dedicated to information related to that rulemaking. To-date, the department has received 36 stakeholder comments pertaining to the proposed amendments to IAC 567 Chapter 108. Based on those comments, the department is incorporating revisions that either offer additional flexibility or provide greater clarification to the proposed amendments. The department would like to thank all of the commenters for their early involvement and input in the rulemaking process. The department will continue to evaluate and incorporate stakeholder feedback and resubmit the proposed rule for secondary review by November 21, 2008. Written suggestions or comments pertaining to the secondary review will be required on or before December 31, 2008. The department anticipates presenting this proposed rule as an informational item to the Environmental Protection Commission in February.
