Rule Revision Information:
The Land Quality Bureau is working closely with Iowa stakeholders to revise Iowa Administrative Code (IAC) 567-Chapter 108 "Beneficial Use Determinations: Solid By-Products as Resources and Alternative Cover Material." This Web page is dedicated to information related to that rulemaking. To-date, the department has received 36 stakeholder comments pertaining to the proposed amendments to IAC 567 Chapter 108. Based on those comments, the department is continuing to evaluate and incorporate revisions that either offer additional flexibility or provide greater clarification to the proposed amendments. The department would like to thank all of the commenters for their early involvement and input in the rulemaking process. Because the department is continuing to evaluate stakeholder comments, the department is delaying the proposed rulemaking to provide additional time to consult with internal and external stakeholders. At this time, the department will refrain from setting a date when the proposed amendments to Chapter 108 will be presented as an informational item to the Environmental Protection Commission. Please note that the department will resubmit the proposed rule for secondary review prior to initiating formal rulemaking, and that there will be additional opportunities for comment during the formal rulemaking process.
