Pollution Prevention and Water Conservation
p2logo.jpg Water is vital to production. Water is used for cleaning, cooling, heating, and as a raw material for a wide variety of products. Many opportunities exist to conserve water, saving facilities in water and sewer charges, chemical costs and energy requirements.

Water Conservation Pays
Iowa companies can save thousands of dollars in water charges. As an example, with assistance from a DNR Pollution Prevention Intern, one Iowa company was able to save more than $144,000 on its annual water and sewer bill by eliminating once-through process water.

Pollution Prevention Services
Pollution Prevention Services' team of experts can provide additional information on water conservation measures. On-site presentations, workshops, and site evaluations are offered to organizations throughout Iowa. These services are confidential, non-regulatory and offered at no cost.
