Planning Support

The Emergency Response & Homeland Security Unit (unit) also provides technical support for planning and training related to Hazardous Condition Incidents. The unit can assist groups within the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, other state agencies, local government entities, industry, and private individuals in regulatory and non-regulatory hazardous incident planning. The unit can assist in Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan development, Risk Management Plan (RMP) development, Community Right-to-Know Planning, and Hazardous Materials incident planning including planning for chemical, biological, and weapons of mass destruction related incidents. The unit can assist in the development of plans, development of training exercises, and the review and evaluation of plans and exercises.
