Emergency Response & Homeland Security Unit has Moved

The Emergency Response & Homeland Security Unit of the DNR has moved from its location on SW 7th Street in Des Moines back to the Wallace State Office Building. The new address is; Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Emergency Response & Homeland Security Unit, 502 E. 9th Street, Des Moines, IA 50319-0034. Staff phone numbers will remain the same.


Department of Natural Resources assumes responsibility for EPCRA Tier II program in Iowa

A recently signed appropriations bill has changed the responsibility for the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act Section 311-312 program (EPCRA Tier II) from Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The DNR currently manages the Section 304 (Emergency Release Reporting) and Section 313 (Toxic Release Inventory) programs. DNR and IWD staff are working together to insure a smooth transition.


DNR Announces New E85 Fueling Sites

The DNR has recently announced the opening of new E85 retail sites throughout the state. The DNR maintains a list of sites in the state of Iowa. Ethanol blended fuels including E85 are increasing in popularity as the demand for crude oil increases world wide. To find retailers selling E85 blended fuels nation wide check the US Department of Energy's Alternative Fuels Data Center list of sites.
