REAP, DNR Administration
DNR Administration - After the $350,000 Conservation Education allotment, 1% of the remaining funds are transferred to the DNR to help defray costs of REAP administration. The DNR is responsible for overall coordination of REAP, including managing the budget, and carrying out the regional assemblies and statewide congress.
Money in the DNR Administration Account is used for a variety of purposes. The REAP account does not cover all the administrative expenses, so the DNR supplements it with other funds. The following are major uses of the account:
- printing (reports, grant announcements, assembly handouts, and congress reference material.
- assembly expenses (meeting room rental, slide-tape show, transparencies for presentations, and staff transportation)
- congress expenses (delegate per diem payment, hotel, and meals)
- general agency overhead (administrative support, postage, photocopying, telephone, computers, printers, and supplies)
- state fair display
- Funded by REAP” signs
