STATE PARK RESERVATIONS FOR CABINS, CAMPING, LODGES AND SHELTERS

RESERVATION METHODS
Customers can make reservations on the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at www.reserveiaparks.com. Only credit/debit cards are accepted for Internet reservations.

Customers can make reservations over the phone by calling the reservation call center at 1-877-427-2757 (1-877 IAPARKS). Call center hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (CST) Monday through Friday and closed on state holidays. Credit/debit card, money order, check and camping coupons are accepted for phone-in reservations.

All campsites, cabins, lodges and shelters must be registered in the name of a person age 18 or older who will occupy (or be present) the facility/campsite for the full term of the reservation.

RESERVATION FEES

  • $4 per reservation item via the Internet.
  • $6 per reservation item via the reservation call center.
  • The reservation fee applies for each campsite, cabin, lodge, or shelter that is reserved regardless of length of stay.
  • Reservation transaction fees are nonrefundable.

    PAYMENT METHODS

  • All camping fees, rental fees and reservation transaction fees are due at the time the reservation is made.
  • Once a payment is made/received, there is no switching the payment type. (ie: if you paid by credit card, you may not ask to switch the payment to a check and/or camping coupons.)
  • Credit card payments are accepted as late as midnight on the reservation window cut-off date.
  • We accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards and debit cards backed by Visa and MasterCard.
  • The last day a person can make a reservation and pay by check, camping coupon or money order is 21 days prior to the arrival date.
  • Payments of checks/money orders and coupons must be received within 10 days from the date the reservation was made.

    CAMPING RESERVATION WINDOW
    Reservations can be made 3 months in advance (count back 3 months from the arrival date to figure opening window). For arrivals beginning on May 29, 30, and 31, the opening window shall be March 1. For arrivals beginning on July 31, the opening window shall be May 1.

    The last day to make a camping reservation is 2 days prior to arrival if paying by credit/debit card or 21 days prior to arrival if paying by check, camping coupon or money order.

    CABIN, LODGE, SHELTER RESERVATION WINDOWS
    Reservations can be made 12 months in advance. Count back 12 months from the arrival date to know how early you can reserve.

    Peak Season Rentals (May 1-September 30)
    The last day to make a reservation is 4 days prior to arrival if paying by credit/debit card or 21 days prior to arrival if paying by check or money order.

    Off Season Rentals (October 1-April 30)
    The last day to make a reservation is 14 days prior to arrival if paying by credit/debit card or 21 days prior to arrival if paying by check or money order.

    CHANGING RESERVATIONS
    Reservation changes can include change of arrival/departure date (with limitations), entire trip dates (must be within reservation window), switching from one cabin/campsite to another, etc.

    Please be aware that for a single camping reservation stay, the arrival date cannot be changed to a later date without losing the reservation. However, you may change your camping reservation arrival date to an earlier date.

    A nonrefundable change fee of $5 will be charged to make a change to each reservation item (campsite, cabin, lodge, shelter).

    Camping Change Cut-off Date
    If paying the change fee and any other fees by check/money order, the last day to change a reservation is 21 days prior to the arrival date. If paying by credit/debit card, the last day to change a reservation is 4 days prior to the arrival date.

    Cabin, Lodge, Shelter Change Cut-off Date
    The last day to change a reservation is 30 days prior to arrival regardless of the method of payment.

    RESERVATION CANCELLATION POLICIES
    A nonrefundable cancellation fee of $5 will be charged for each reservation item cancelled.

    Camping Cancellations

    • Cancellations 2 or more days prior to arrival date: A $5 cancellation fee will apply and no forfeiture of camping fees. The cancellation fee will be deducted from the camping fees paid and any remaining camping fees will be refunded.
    • Cancellations 1 day prior to arrival date: A $5 cancellation fee will apply and customer will forfeit one night's camping fee. Any remaining camping fees will be refunded.
    • Cancellations day of arrival: A $5 cancellation fee will apply and customer will forfeit two nights' camping fees. Any remaining camping fees will be refunded.
    • No Shows: If no attempt is made to cancel a reservation and a camper fails to arrive, no refund will be given unless extenuating circumstances are documented and approved by the DNR.
    • Note: If the original reservation payment of camping fees is less than the amount due to the DNR for the cancellation (cancellation fee and forfeiture fees), the DNR will keep the original reservation payment of camping fees, the customer will not receive a refund, and no additional payment is required.
    Cabin, Lodge, Shelter Cancellations
    • Cancellations 30 or more days prior to arrival date: A $5 cancellation fee will apply and no forfeiture of rental fees. The cancellation fee will be deducted from the rental fees paid and any remaining rental fees and tax will be refunded.
    • Cancellations 15-29 days prior to arrival date: A $5 cancellation fee will apply and customer will forfeit one day/night's rental fee and tax for a multi-day rental or 50% of the rental fee and tax paid for a one-day rental. Any remaining rental fees and tax will be refunded.
    • Cancellations less than 15 days prior to arrival up to arrival date: A $5 cancellation fee will apply and customer will forfeit two days/nights' rental fees and tax for a multi-day rental. Any remaining rental fees will be refunded. If the reservation was a one-day rental, the customer will no refund of rental fees.
    • No Shows: If no attempt is made to cancel a reservation and a renter fails to arrive, no refund will be given unless extenuating circumstances are documented and approved by the DNR.
    • Note: If the original reservation payment of rental fees is less than the amount due to the DNR for the cancellation (cancellation fee and forfeiture fees), the DNR will keep the original reservation payment of rental fees, the customer will not receive a refund, and no additional payment is required.

    CONFIRMATION LETTERS
    Campers or renters who make reservations will receive a confirmation number and letter for each reservation. Letters will be e-mailed to any customer who has an e-mail account. All others will receive a hard copy confirmation letter. Please keep a copy of the confirmation letter and bring it with you to the park in case there are any questions. Each time a person changes or cancels a reservation, a new confirmation number and letter will be generated.

    Reservations which are voided due to lack of payment, will also have a new confirmation number generated and customers will receive a confirmation letter indicating that the reservation has been voided.
