Pleasant Creek Trail System Issues

Pleasant Creek Recreation Area

  1. It is not possible to maintain a trail segment through the old growth woodland in the SW corner due to steep slopes, clay soils and dense forest canopy. Rerouting of this trail segment is not feasible due to private property boundary restrictions at points with steep ravines.
  2. This segment increases the frequency and duration of temporary trail closures of the entire pleasant Creek trail system, therefore it is proposed to permanently close this. The trail will be re-routed along the northern boundary of the old growth forest that will result in a more sustainable trail and ultimately fewer trail closures due to wet conditions.
  3. Additional trails are proposed for development along the lakeshore in the southern area of the recreation area.
