Vote for New DNR Volunteer Program Slogan
Posted: March 9, 2010

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources Keepers of the Land (KOL) Volunteer Program received more than 100 entries as part of its contest to choose a slogan to help recruit new volunteers and retain past volunteers.

From those entries, a three were chosen.

  1. Live more…DO more…Volunteer!
  2. Ready to Lend a Hand
  3. Leaving a Legacy for Iowa

Voting will be available on Facebook or e-mail until 4:30 p.m., March 15, 2010. In order to vote, you must be a Facebook fan of Iowa DNR. If you are not already a fan, go to www.facebook.com/iowadnr and become a fan. Select "like" by the slogan you wish to cast your vote for. You may vote by email by typing in the slogan and sending it to DNR.Volunteer@dnr.iowa.gov.

The entry with the most votes will be declared the winner.

Volunteers do everything from restoring prairies, creating friends groups that support our state parks, and much more. In 2009, more than 93,000 hours were donated by approximately 24,150 KOL volunteers to enhance and preserve Iowa's natural resources.
