Rising Water Levels Close Brinker Lake
Posted: May 28, 2009
WATERLOO - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is removing the boat docks at Brinker Lake Thursday because of rising water levels in the Cedar River. The docks will be replaced next week after the water recedes.
Brinker Lake is a popular power boating lake and part of George Wyth State Park. The Brinker Lake parking lot will be closed due to expected minor flooding, but the rest of George Wyth State Park will remain open and unaffected. The Cedar River is expected to crest on Saturday at 1 p.m.
